Arles, carries Camargue, city of the delta of the Rhône, is before all a heritage city and of traditions. This is also the inspiration city of Van Gogh, and especially a vacation place privileged to few landscapes.

The Arles amphitheater was constructed at the end of the 1st century of our era to the north of the antique city, on the northern slopes of the hill of the hauture, at the time of an extension period and of general embellishment of the city (construction of thermes, elevation of the walls, installations of residential neighborhoods. ..).

The structure behaves the architectural characteristics of the roman amphitheater (form arena oval, gradins, a system of galleries and of stairways allowing a gone out quick of the crowd. ..). The Arles amphitheater is these days sits it many demonstrations.

The Camargue is like its own little country. Once you're a few minutes south of Arles, you enter the atmosphere of the area, with its series of long, level roads criss-crossing the marshes and farmlands. Eagles, hawks and harriers soar in the blue skies and muskrats swim along the little canals, often making unsuccessful attempts to cross the roads. Black bulls and white horses graze in the fields, and lines of horseback riders file into the brush to observe the nature first-hand. Cyclists peddle against the winds, along the roads or off on lanes forbidden to motor vehicles.
